Home Organic was registered as a Close Corporation in 2009. The business specializes in the provision of home veggie gardens, and more recently rainwater harvesting. 

What started off as a weekend husband-wife hobby for Andrew Donkin and his wife Karen quickly blossomed into a flourishing home organic veggie garden business, which was first introduced to the public at the Shongweni Market in April 2009.

Andrew’s DIY Home Organic units are constructed to be a neat, practical and manageable system designed for people living in residential suburbs, who have neither the time nor the ‘green fingers’ know-how to manage a complicated veggie patch.

The product is simple, stylish, low maintenance and practical – perfect for people with little time to spare. At this rate – anyone can adopt an eco-friendly standard of living.

But Home Organic wants to do more within the eco environment and founded Every Drop Counts Rainwater Harvesting systems, perfect for the use of lawn watering, toilet cisterns, washing machines, washing cars, saving on sewage costs, and swimming pool top-ups. Properly treated rainwater can also serve as emergency drinking water or even primary drinking water if no other source is available.

The concept behind Home Organic is to encourage urban households to ‘go green’ and reduce their carbon footprint.”
